Cobar Shire is situated in the centre of New South Wales with excellent road, rail and air links to most of Australia’s capital cities. The Shire’s prosperity is built around the thriving mining – copper, lead, silver, zinc, gold – and pastoral industries.

Major mining companies in the region include:

  • Glencore’s CSA Mine
  • CBH Resources’ Endeavor Mine
  • Aurelia Metals’ Peak Gold Mine
  • Aeris Resources’ Tritton Copper Mine

The above mines are supported by a variety of local and national METS companies.

Glencore's CSA Mine

The CSA mine is an underground mine and flotation concentrator, extracting copper ore at a rate of 1,200,000 tonnes per annum.

Endeavor Mine

The Endeavor Mine is an entirely underground operation accessed by traditional shaft haulage with concentrator, drying, storage and rail facilities on the mine lease.

Peak Gold Mine

The Peak Gold Mine currently consists of five producing gold, copper and silver deposits that are being mined from underground to provide mill feed to a 750ktpa central gold/copper processing plant.

Tritton Copper Mine

The Tritton Copper Mine complex consists of the Tritton and Murrawombie underground copper mines. Ore from Tritton and Murrawombie is transported to Aeris’ 1.8 million tonne per annum processing plant, located near the Tritton mine.

As leaders in the future of work in the mining sector, we see huge opportunities for Founders and aspiring entrepreneurs from all sectors to bring new ideas, apply new technology and develop new services for the mining sector.

The global mining sector is going through a technological revolution. We’re seeing the layering of new technologies to drive growth, productivity, safety and performance – which is redefining the way we work and the skills required.

“Coming from outside the sector, it was great to learn how our solution applies to the global mining sector. Engaging with a Director from a top-tier mining company was extremely valuable.”
